NMBU conducts research at the intersection of nature, technology, and society. Its interdisciplinary teams develop solutions to global challenges – ranging from healthy nutrition and animal welfare to climate-smart land use and responsible digitalization.
The Norway Mobility Program offers data science talents the opportunity to conduct a research stay of up to three months at NMBU.
There, they are actively involved in interdisciplinary projects focused on sustainable agriculture, environmental modeling, animal health, and digital resource management.

About NORA
NORA - Norwegian Artificial Intelligence Research Consortium
The Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) is a partner of NORA, the Norwegian Artificial Intelligence Research Consortium. This initiative aims to strengthen Norwegian research, education, and innovation in the fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics, as well as other relevant areas that support the development of AI applications.
Together with HIDA, NORA co-organizes the Norway Mobility Program, which offers doctoral researchers and postdocs from the Helmholtz Association and NORA partner institutions the opportunity to participate in a research stay in Norway.
The Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) is a research-intensive university with a clear mission: to develop sustainable solutions for major global challenges in the areas of environment, climate, food systems, animal health, technology, and society.
NMBU defines itself as a university for life and sustainability. Its research is applied, socially relevant, and globally connected.
Research priorities:
- Land use, biodiversity, and sustainable agriculture
- Food safety, animal health, and veterinary medicine
- Climate adaptation, water resources, and ecological resilience
- Biotechnology, genetics, and bioinformatics
- Digitalization, data science, and intelligent systems
- Sustainable urban and regional development
- Bioeconomy, governance, and resource management
With approximately 1,800 staff members and around 16,500 students, NMBU is one of the largest universities in Norway.
